The End is Near
by Brian Price 4/7/2012

"1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

10 And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood..." - Genesis 6:1-14

Here we read in this chapter of the book of Genesis a brief overview of the story of Noah. In Noah's day, the earth was corrupt. There was a lot of sexual immorality, and a lot of violence. Here we read in verse 2 that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair and they took them wives of all which they chose. This term "sons of God" is also found in Job chapter 1, in which it says that the sons of God along with Satan came to present themselves before the LORD. So we assume from these passages that these sons of God are fallen angels.

2 Peter chapter 2 says, "For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell." And these angels that sinned were perhaps the sons of God that saw the daughters of men, and they took them for wives, which they weren't supposed to do. Some people believe that angels are doing the same thing today in marrying women, and their children become men of renown, people of prominence such as those in government, Hollywood, and other places of influence. And they are there to turn the people away from God, to lead the people astray, to lead the world in rebellion against God. But not only that, but see here that God saw the wickedness of man, that it was great in the earth, and that the thoughts of his heart are only evil continually in verse 5.

Jesus said, "For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh," (Matthew 12:34). And he also said, "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications..." (Mattew 15:19). I know that before I was saved, all I thought about was evil. All I thought about was sexual immorality. And I am sure that's the way it is for every person that doesn't know the Lord. He thinks very corrupt thoughts all the time. It is for this reason, because man is evil, that God will destroy the world, a second time, as he did in the days of Noah.

And notice here in our passage of scripture that Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. And Noah was a just man who feared the Lord. He loved the Lord. He wanted to keep God's commandments. He was a man of outstanding character in those days. Nobody is really sure if there were any other people out there like Noah in those days. The Bible does not say, so we can only assume that there weren't.

But notice that God was going to destroy all of mankind, and yet here is one man who found grace in the eyes of the Lord because he loved the Lord. And here we have the same thing going on today. There are many Christians who do love God, who do want to do the right thing. And it is with these men and women that God is going to keep alive. He is going to save us. He is going to deliver us from his wrath, which is a very good thing. I am so glad that I know the Lord. Thank God for Jesus.

Moving on... God destroyed the old world. He was very displeased with the way his creation turned out. God didn't intend for mankind to be so evil and corrupt. Yet, he gave man a choice. He gave man the choice to him, to choose life, as in the garden of Eden. In the garden of Eden, he created two trees, the tree of life, and the tree of death (the Bible calls it the tree of knowledge of good and evil). Yet man ultimately decided to go with the tree of knowledge which was ultimately his demise. It brought death into the world.

But we find in Matthew chapter 24 Jesus talking about the old world and Noah. He speaks in reference to the future. It says in verses 36 through 42, "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

"37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come."

In the days of Noah, there was a lot of debauchery and revelry going on. And such is the case now. And here Jesus implies that the economy was doing well. In another context in Luke, Jesus gave the illustration of Lot in Sodom and Gomorrah, and how they were buying and selling. We can grab from this that in the last days, people will be prosperous. People will still be buying and selling, building houses, marrying and giving in marriage - living a normal life if you will.

And notice the Bible says, "...and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." (Matthew 24:39).

Here he is saying is that in the future, and I believe its in our day now, that people will giving in marriage, and going about life as normal, and they will not be aware of the day of the Rapture when he will come. So essentially, people will be caught with their pants down and they will be destroyed. They will be destroyed in the tribulation.

There's going to be a lot of loss of life in the tribulation. In fact Jesus said, that, "...except the Lord had shortened those days; there should no flesh be saved, but for the elects' sake, they shall be shortened." - Matthew 24:22

So we can conclude from this that in the tribulation, there will be so much loss of life that, had not God shortened those, there would be no people left alive. Just as in the case with Noah. There was absolutely nobody left alive after God was done with them, except for Noah and his children and their wives.

We live in a day just like in Noah's day. Just today Yahoo! reported that police in Oklahoma are searching for a man who shot 5 people. The article stated, "A gunman shot 5 people killing 3 of them in a black neighborhood of Tulsa, Oklahoma in a shooting spree that left residents on edge and sparked an intensive manhunt on Saturday. Police describe the suspect as a white man driving a white pick up truck."

Statistics from disastercenter.com show that in 1960 there were 288,460 violent crimes in the US. In 2010, there were 1,246,248. That's 4.3 times more violent crimes in the U.S. in 2010 than in 1960. 4.3 times more!

The times that we live in now are just like Noah's day. The earth was filled with violence then, and so it is now. And its getting worse. This just a sign that Jesus is going to return extremely soon. And when he comes he is going to destroy a lot of people. But it doesn't have to end that way.

Notice when God spoke to Jonah to and preach to the people of Nineveh, God saw that they repented after they heard the preaching of Jonah. Jonah preached that if they would not repent, God would overthrow Nineveh within 40 days. They did repent, and God did spare that city of Nineveh.

And so it can be now with you, if you will repent. The course of events that are going to occur are: 1) There is going to be a Rapture. As Jesus said, that there shall be two in one field, the one shall be taken, and the other left. Just as Enoch was taken and did not see death, so also Christians will be taken from earth so that they won't see death. And it will be in the Rapture.

And in Daniel chapter 12, verses 1 and 2, it says:

"1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt." - Daniel 12:1-2

The Bible says that there will be a time of trouble, such as never was since the beginning of time. And what he is talking about is the seven year tribulation. When the rapture happens, there is going to be 7 years of great darkness in which a world ruler will come and he will say he is God. And men will worship him as God. He is going to rule the world. And anyone who will not receive his mark in their right hand or forehead, they will be killed. He is going to destroy a lot of people.

The Georgia Guidestones, for instance, call for a reduction in population for the world to the point where the population would only be 500 million people. That's what the elite want. In fact I just spoke to a co-worker of mine just yesterday, and how he thinks the world is overpopulated, and that we need to get rid of 90% of the world's population. And I mean, that's a typical thought for a lost person; that the world is overpopulated. But the world is not overpopulated.

If you want to destroy 90% of the world, why don't you be the first to go? Do you want to volunteer? But that's not the solution. The solution is repentance. The solution is Jesus Christ.

You receive him as your Lord and Saviour today, and you can be saved and go to heaven forever. Because if all life is just a few years on earth, and then die, then what is the point of life? It's all vain.

But there is hope in Jesus Christ. There is hope in the resurrection that we will be saved. You can have hope. And if you don't have Jesus Christ, you have NO HOPE. You have absolutely no hope. All you have is today. Eat, drink, and tomorrow we die. What's the point?

Let me exhort you. You do not want to go through this Tribulation that is coming. It is coming. There is a man called Maitreya, who Esoterics, Theosophists, and New Agers are preaching about that he is coming. He is coming. They call him the Christ. But the Bible calls him the Antichrist. And when he comes, he will be the World Teacher. He will be the Antichrist who will lead the world in rebellion against God.

And if you don't receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, then you will probably receive this man, and his mark, and you will receive him and the Christ, and you will go to hell. So please, if you are not saved, if you do not know Jesus, please repent. Please receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour today.

IF YOU DIED TODAY, WOULD YOU GO TO HEAVEN?
