Who Do You Say Jesus Is?
By Brian Price 3/28/2013

"When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, 'Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?' And they said, 'Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.' He saith unto them, 'But whom say ye that I am?' And Simon Peter answered and said, 'Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.'" - Matthew 16:13-16

Did you know that the whole world acknowledges the existence of Jesus to some degree? The Jews believe Jesus was a good prophet, but not the Messiah. The Muslims believe Jesus was also an important prophet, but not as important as Muhammed. Even atheists acknowledge that Jesus was a good religious teacher who taught love, but they also deny his divinity. But Jesus here asks his followers, "But whom do you say that I am?" Peter reassured his Master that he himself believed, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of God." Peter knew Jesus was no ordinary man, or some good teacher, or just another prophet. Jesus was God in the flesh. He was Love Incarnate, the living Word of God, the King of kings, and the Hope of all men. Whom do you say that Jesus is?
