God Will Repay
By Brian Price 11/29/2012

"9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
10 And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face." - Deuteronomy 7:9-10
The goodness of God ensures that those who are good are repaid with mercy, and that those who are evil are repaid with judgment. Jesus, when giving his sermon on the mount, said the following, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." (Matt. 5:48) When a man takes it upon himself to fight against God, to tempt him, and to blaspheme his name, he is taking his very life into his own hands. It is no different than walking up to the chief of the police department, slapping him in the face, and then pulling his pants down in front of everyone. Whoever does such a thing will never come out of prison.

I imagine that the haters of God have literally gone insane. They have no fear of God whatsoever. What does it take for a man to realize his insanity when fighting against God?

Let us try to rationalize with the unbeliever. Let us try to reason with unreasonable men.

Suppose for a moment that you are a citizen of a kingdom, whose king is someone you do not like. You think he is a power hungry, selfish, and emotional king, who is just looking for attention. Yet, this king has complete, unlimited power over his kingdom. Those who he wants to live, he allows to live. Those who he wants to die, he puts them to death. Now, you may not like the King. Yet, we can both agree that he is still the king, correct? And can we agree that it would be foolish for any man to curse the king to his face? I imagine that the individual who was courageous enough to lift up his hand against the king as to show his hatred for him would immediately be put to death. Now, we are talking about any normal, earthly king. What king on this planet would allow any man to sit there and call him names, curse him, talk bad about him behind his back, or even allow the fool to fight against him?

How is it then that you, a fool, are not afraid to do those same things to God? And may I remind that this King has all power. He has power to cast you into hell, and to permit your burning for as long as he wishes. Do you think that it is at all wise to curse your King, or to hate him, or to fight against him? Even if your causes were justified, do you think it would profit you one bit to fight against God?

Jesus said, "What shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" - Mark 8:36

Let me tell you my friend, you would profit nothing. Your contempt for God is like having contempt for a mountain. Would your contempt for that mountain ever make it go away? Could you at all with your hatred make that mountain to shake for fear of you? Could you convince the mountain that the mountain is wicked, and that you are righteous? Would you be able to tear down the mountain with your own bare hands, so as to leave not one small stone left?

Or what about the sky? Can you demand that the sky give you what you ask for? Can you fight against the sky? Will you be able to bring it into submission? Can you put the sky into a head lock? Can you kill or destroy the sky?

What then can you do to God?

You are fighting a battle that you cannot win. You are picking on someone who is definitely not your size. You are biting off way more than you can chew.

Fighting against God is like fighting a grizzly bear with no weapon in your hands. The grizzly bear will show you no mercy. He will tear you from limb to limb, and you will die a miserable, painful death.

Why do people hate God? It makes no sense to me. They either can't stand him because he is good, or they hate him without any reason at all.

Either way, it makes no sense whatsoever. God has complete control and power over your life. You can't beat death, how much less then are you able to defeat God? Punch the ground, and see if it agonizes in pain. Or cast a stone into the ocean, and see if you make it bleed. How much less then are you able to hurt God? Your fightings are in vain.

Don't you realize that with one blow, your candle will go out? Your lamp will be put out in obscure darkness. Does that not concern you? Can you change the past? Or can you stop the future? Can you exalt yourself to be the ruler of all the nations? Can you make yourself immortal? Are you able to create a world with inhabitants?

How are you able then, to stand before God?

You are sinful. You are wicked. You are as a filthy rag with no use. You are like a trampled flower that flourished for a moment, but is now beneath the feet of all who walk by. You will be laid in the grave, and your soul will go to hell.

Does that not concern you? Does that not make you afraid?

What will you answer God when he asks you why? Why did you not believe his word? Why did you curse him? Why did you hate him?

The Bible says that the man who did not come with a wedding garment on was speechless. It then says that the king will say to his servants, Bind him hand and foot, and cast him into outer darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Do you think that you will be in eternal darkness because you were a good person? Or because you were evil? Do you think that it will be God's fault that you are there? Or because you fought against him, and refused to obey his voice?

But go ahead and mock. Mock and despise your Maker. You're just like your father the devil, anyway. And you will join your father in the everlasting flames that is prepared for him. God is not afraid of you to bring you before his throne. He will repay you to your face.

If You Died Today, Would You Go To Heaven?
