The Counsel of the Wicked
By Brian Price 11/25/2012

"1 Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
2 Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity." - Psalms 64:1-2
One of the things that has baffled many Christians for years has been the thought of the scribes and Pharisees, and how they fought against Jesus. Why would anyone take counsel against Jesus to destroy him? He healed the sick, raised the dead, and gave sight to the blind. He set men free from sin, and saved souls from hell. Yet, Mark 3:6 says of Christ's enemies, "And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him." The gospel of Luke says that "...they were filled with madness." Madness! It was nothing but utter insanity that drove those men to fight against Jesus. Only someone as insane as the Pharisees could take counsel against someone so wonderful as Jesus. It is complete madness my friend.
